Rod, I don't want to be draged into these organized BOB circle jerks but let me point out a fact.
The simple truth is that you're debating the contents of a blog off the ASCN forums. You guys fight with your people spying on our boards and on our fleets in our teamspeak server. You COULD do without either (or even just one) very easily but you choose to keep the out of game advantage (which you somehow justify as a part of eve). Why? Why do BOB, the almighty PVP force, need to use spies out of game to get advantages inside EVE? Fair fights not your thing perhaps?
Thus, I'm sorry if I'm cynical with the rest of ASCN about honest fair play in BOB.

Quote: ASCN has never used a spy on either enemy TS or forums?
Not as far as I know. Its clearly not official policy like it is in BOB. I've never been in a gang in ASCN where we were fed enemy intel via a spy in somebody elses TS. Nor have I ever seen on EVE-O or on our boards, intel posted which was illegally ripped out of some boards where we were not invited. I'll be happy to admit a mistake if you find something but from my memory, nothing.
I view that TS issue graver than the forums because I know how porous our forums are to past members. With respect to TS spying, its a extreme low in our corp. We just don't do it. Where is the damn enjoyment in this game when you know what the enemy is going to do.

Quote: As I explained to Butter Dog in another thread (might even be this one but I cba looking), it comes down to a difference of opinion on what Eve is. And to what degree a communications or organisational tool used in direct and close combination with this game can ever constitute an "out of game mechanic".
In other words Rod, you and BOB need the out of game advantage (TS spying) to fight your war. Your call mate. Your call.

Quote: wow then, how do you think CYVOK gets his great intel then? Or is it maybe made up? the more I think of it the latter seems more plausible. OK, ASCN doesent use spies Razz
would explain alot tbh
There could be a million ways to get intel but I've never seen CYVOK posting up internal communication ANYWHERE where he was not allowed.
The MAJOR issue is Teamspeak. The simple fact is YOU use spies, we don't. You feel the need to have this advantage yet we do not. As the war goes on, you remember that.

Quote: LoL only means your not important enough to know it, and i was on TS when it was said so spin another lie plz :P Just drop the innocent act and stop whining about how unfair it is. The game mechanics are there for you as well .. Not our fault your crap at it.
It is amusing though. You REALLY needed ASCN to go down to your level to make it all look rosy. I mean, imagine if BOB were the only ones fighting fleet battles without teamspeak spies. That would be bad PR! Geez, imagine if people accused BOB of using an out of game advantage to get kills on the eve forums! The PR nightmare. Hmm..let see..AH I got it! ASCN must do it too. Yes..They must! Really..
Utter desperation.
Whatever fellas, I know very well what happens in my gangs. As with my original point, I'm sorry but I still am cynical about associating BOB with fair play. Signing out.
